Delta Omega Honor Society

The only honor society for public health majors is Delta Omega. It has chapters on more than 100 college and university campuses across the country. Students pay a one-time fee after their schools choose them based on their grades. Members can attend regular meetings on their campuses and special events in their states and regions. Delta Omega also has an annual meeting that students can attend. Though the location of the meeting changes each year, the honor society previously held meetings in San Diego, Chicago, Denver and Atlanta. Guests can talk about their experiences in school and the internships or practical work they do and get help looking for jobs and internships. The annual meeting also allows students to discuss any changes they think the society should make.

Society for Public Health Education Annual Conference

One of the best conferences for public health students is the Society for Public Health Education Annual Conference. Also called SOPHE, this is the main organization for college and university students majoring in public health and professors who work in those schools. According to the SOPHE, the conference begins on Tuesday morning and has events that run through Friday afternoon. Those events include roundtable discussions and workshops. Students who recently joined the organization can attend workshops and discussions for new members too.
